This Cookie Policy is the complete inventory of the cookies and browser storage used on technodict.com — what each one is, who sets it, what it does, how long it lasts, and how to change your mind.
It sits alongside two companion documents:

The short version
- Nothing optional runs until you say yes. On your first visit, analytics and advertising storage are switched off — not merely unused, but explicitly signalled as denied to Google before any tag loads.
- We use two things you can refuse: Google Analytics 4, and nothing else. There are no advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, no social-media trackers, no session-replay, and no heatmaps on this site.
- Two entries we store are not cookies at all. Your consent choice and your light/dark theme live in your browser's local storage, are never transmitted to us, and cannot identify you.
- Declining costs you nothing. Every page, article and form works identically either way.
What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store and send back on later requests. Local storage is a similar browser facility, with one important difference: it is never automatically transmitted to a server. Both are covered by this policy because both store data on your device.
Cookies are described as first-party when set by the site you are visiting (technodict.com) and third-party when set by another domain whose content the page loads (for example google.com). They are session cookies if they vanish when you close the browser, and persistent if they survive until an expiry date or until you clear them.
Your choices, and how consent works here
The banner
On your first visit, a banner appears at the bottom of the page offering Accept and Decline. Until you choose one:
- Google Consent Mode v2 signals are initialised as
analytics_storage: denied,ad_storage: denied,ad_user_data: deniedandad_personalization: denied. - No analytics cookie is written.
Pressing Accept updates those four signals to granted, and Google Analytics may then set its
cookies. Pressing Decline leaves all four denied. Either way, your choice is recorded in local storage
under td-consent so the banner does not reappear on every page.
Changing your mind
To withdraw consent after accepting — or to be asked again after declining — clear this site's data in
your browser, or delete the td-consent entry specifically. The banner will reappear on your next visit
and your choice will be re-applied from scratch. Deleting site data also removes any Google Analytics
cookies already set.

The site currently has no in-page control > to reopen the banner or revoke consent; clearing site data is the only route. Under the GDPR, > withdrawing consent must be as easy as giving it. Either add a persistent "Cookie settings" link > (footer is the convention) that re-shows the banner, or rewrite this section to describe whatever > control ships. Do not publish a mechanism the site does not have.**
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because our analytics stay off until you opt in, a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal produces the same outcome as declining. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is no separate opt-out for these signals to trigger.

We treat reCAPTCHA as strictly necessary because it is a fraud- and abuse-prevention measure protecting a form that would otherwise be flooded by bots. It is provided by Google and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

What we do with analytics. We look at which pages are read, how visitors move between them, which articles hold attention, and which devices and countries our audience uses. We use it to decide what to write and what to fix. We do not use it to build advertising audiences or to identify you personally.
How it is configured. Automatic page-view collection is switched off; page views are sent explicitly
on navigation. Advertising signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) follow the same
consent choice and remain denied unless you accept.
Google's role. Google acts as our analytics processor and, for its own security and service-integrity purposes, as an independent controller. Data may be processed in the United States — see International transfers in the Privacy Policy.
the GA4 property's actual settings: data retention (2 or 14 months), whether Google Signals is enabled, and whether Google data-sharing options are on. If Google Signals is enabled, this section must say so, because it changes the processing materially.
Not cookies, but worth knowing: map tiles
The contact page renders a map using tiles served by OpenStreetMap. Loading those tiles sets no cookie, but it does disclose your IP address and browser user agent to the OpenStreetMap Foundation's tile servers, because your browser has to request the images directly. We do not use the map to track you. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
Staff sign-in cookies
Our internal admin area — reachable at /app, /desk and /login — issues session cookies to
authenticated TECHNODICT staff. These are strictly necessary for authentication and are never issued to
public visitors. If you have never signed in, you will never receive one.

What we do not use
To be explicit, this website carries none of the following: advertising or retargeting cookies; conversion pixels from Meta, LinkedIn, X or TikTok; session-replay or heatmap tools; A/B testing or personalisation cookies; cross-site tracking of any kind; and cookies that fingerprint your device.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you view, delete and block cookies and site data. Blocking all cookies will break many websites, though not this one.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Remember that clearing site data also deletes td-consent and td-theme, so the consent banner will
return and your appearance preference will reset.
Changes to this policy
Whenever we add, remove or repurpose a cookie or storage key, we update this policy and the "Last updated" date above. Where a change introduces a new non-essential technology, we will ask for your consent again before it runs.
